Tumbbad

“A tale of greed beyond fear.”

Vinayak Rao (Sohum Shah) grows up in the rain-soaked village of Tumbbad, India, in 1918, fixed on the ancestral treasure an old woman keeps hidden outside town. Rahi Anil Barve films the village in constant downpour, and the wet stone and mud press in on every scene. Vinayak returns to the story of that treasure again and again, and the wanting never lets go of him.
