Anton (Denis Lavant) spends his days keeping a crumbling indoor swimming pool in Sofia running, so his blind father will believe business is still good. Veit Helmer fills the tiled hall with a hushed, silent-era mix of European languages and very little dialogue, while Anton's brother Gregor (Terrence Gillespie) circles the place with plans to tear it down. Anton still dreams of sailing the world, and he sits at the empty edge of the pool, looking out.
