Twelve Monkeys

“The future is history.”

James Cole (Bruce Willis), a convict in 2035, agrees to be sent back in time to find where the virus that emptied the earth came from. He lands in 1990 instead and wakes up in a mental hospital, where the psychiatrist Dr. Kathryn Railly (Madeleine Stowe) is the one person who listens. Terry Gilliam builds the film around the two of them, a man who insists he is from the future and a woman trying to decide whether to believe him.
