“When you can live forever, what do you live for?”

Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) leaves her mother's home for her father's small town in the Pacific Northwest, and on her first day at school she notices Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a classmate who keeps his distance. Catherine Hardwicke follows Bella as she gets close to him anyway, though Edward warns her off, because he is a 108-year-old vampire. The film is about wanting someone so badly that the warning only makes you lean in.
