Two Men in Manhattan

(1959)Directed by Jean-Pierre Melville84 minCrime, Drama, Thriller

Moreau (Jean-Pierre Melville), a French journalist in New York, has to find a United Nations diplomat who has disappeared, and he can't do it alone. He brings in Pierre Delmas (Pierre Grasset), a photographer, and the two work through the city's streets and bars looking for anyone who saw the man last. Melville, who plays Moreau himself, builds the film on the habits of two colleagues who trust each other because the job leaves them no one else.
