Two Pianos

Mathias (François Civil), a virtuoso pianist, returns to Lyon after years in Asia, drawn back by the pull of a woman he cannot have. He finds himself caught between Claude (Nadia Tereszkiewicz), who offers a real life, and Elena (Charlotte Rampling), whose presence haunts him still. Desplechin ends on two pianos in a room, their sound filling the space where choice has already been made.
