Two Women

(1960)Directed by Vittorio De Sica100 minDrama, War
“Suddenly, Love Becomes Lust… Innocence becomes shame… As two women are trapped by violent passion and unforgettable terror!”

In Rome in 1943, the bombing is close enough that Cesira (Sophia Loren), a young widow who runs a small shop, decides to take her twelve-year-old daughter Rosetta (Eleonora Brown) back to the rural hometown she left behind. Vittorio De Sica follows the two of them into the countryside, where the war reaches them anyway. Cesira has one job, to keep Rosetta alive and unharmed, and she holds to it with her whole body.
