Tyson's Run

“With each step comes the determination to take another.”

Fifteen-year-old Tyson Hollerman (Major Dodson) walks into a public school for the first time, and the football team's mess is waiting for him and his father, Bobby (Rory Cochrane), who cleans up after it. Tyson meets Aklilu (Barkhad Abdi), a champion marathon runner, and decides to run a marathon himself, hoping it will win his father's approval. Kim Bass writes and directs it plainly, keeping the camera close to Tyson and his family.
