Ugly, Dirty and Bad

Giacinto (Nino Manfredi) lost an eye in a work accident and got a large insurance payout, and all he wants now is to keep that money to himself. He lives in a shack on a hill above Rome with his wife, ten children and assorted relatives, all of whom know he has cash hidden somewhere and would like to find it. Ettore Scola films the overcrowded household in a rough, grainy realism that gives the family no room to look away from each other.
