After a near-death experience, Gabriel (Gérard Depardieu), France's most celebrated chef, drops everything to chase a flavor he has never managed to name. It has haunted him since a Japanese chef, Tetsuichi Morita (Kyōzō Nagatsuka), beat him with a single bowl of noodles when he was young. Slony Sow follows him from France to Japan, where Gabriel is racing his own body to find the man and taste that bowl again.
