It's the Fourth of July weekend, and the body of Master Sergeant Sam Harper (David "Shark" Fralick) has just been found, dead long before anyone thought to look for him. Then he gets up, and the people he comes for are the ones who don't love their country enough. William Lustig, working from a Larry Cohen script, plays the holiday as black comedy with a slasher's patience.
