Under the Blossoming Cherry Trees

In a mountain pass, Masahiro Shinoda's tale begins where a bandit (Tomisaburō Wakayama) takes a woman captive and brings her home. She is the Shrewish Wife (Shima Iwashita), and her first demand is that he kill the wives he already has. A maid (Hiroko Isayama) waits among the cherry trees, which stand in full bloom over every body.
