Under the Sand

“Can love vanish without a trace?”

Marie Drillon (Charlotte Rampling), a professor, goes on holiday to the beach with her husband Jean (Bruno Cremer), and then he is gone. François Ozon follows her back to Paris, where she keeps setting a place for him and talking about him as though he might walk in. Her friends see a woman refusing to look at what happened, and the longer she holds on, the less of her own life she has left.
