Under the Shadow

“Fear will find you.”

Shideh (Narges Rashidi) is a mother in 1980s Tehran, shut out of medical school and left alone with her young daughter Dorsa (Avin Manshadi) while her husband is sent to the front. When a missile strikes their apartment building, a neighbor mutters that it carried spirits inside it. Babak Anvari keeps the pair in the same cramped rooms, and Shideh, sleepless and sure a spirit in the building is after Dorsa, has nowhere left to take her.
