Under the Skin

“Your body betrays your soul.”

Iris Kelly (Samantha Morton) has always known her older sister Rose (Claire Rushbrook), married and pregnant, was their mother's favorite. When Mum (Rita Tushingham) dies suddenly, Iris is the one who comes apart, and she copes by losing herself in one-night stands and anonymous encounters. Carine Adler stays close on Morton's face while Iris moves from stranger to stranger, a young woman suffocating in the days after the funeral.
