Selene (Kate Beckinsale) wakes in a lab after twelve years of captivity to find the human world now knows about vampires and has hunted them nearly to extinction. Dr. Jacob Lane (Stephen Rea) tells her she has a daughter, Eve (India Eisley), hidden away and in danger from forces closing in on all sides. Selene fights through the neon-lit city to reach her, only to discover what her daughter has become and what it will cost to protect her.
