Unforgiven

“How far can people be forgiven?”

The film is set in Hokkaido, a frontier of snow and mud where the old samurai order has collapsed. Jubee Kamata (Ken Watanabe), a swordsman who has put the blade down, is hired by prostitutes to find the men who cut up one of their own. He brings along his old comrade Ichizo Oishi (Koichi Sato) and Goro Sawada (Yuya Yagira), a young braggart. Sang-il Lee shoots the long ride out in muted, weathered light.
