United States of Love

Four women in a Polish town decide, in the first year after communism, that they have waited long enough to change their lives. Agata (Julia Kijowska), Iza (Magdalena Cielecka), Renata (Dorota Kolak) and Marzena (Marta Nieradkiewicz) each reach for a different desire, though none of them is as happy as she looks. Tomasz Wasilewski sets their wanting against a country that has just been told it is free, and shows how little that freedom explains.
