“She's a Type A without a Plan B.”

Veronica Clarke (Haley Lu Richardson) learns that in Missouri she can't get an abortion without her parents' permission, so she asks her former best friend Bailey Butler (Barbie Ferreira) to drive her to Albuquerque. The two haven't spoken in a while, and the trip puts them in a car together for days. Rachel Lee Goldenberg builds the road trip around an old friendship, asking whether two people can find their way back to each other after they drift apart.
