Unseen

“Sight is survival.”

A call comes in to Sam (Jolene Purdy) from a stranger, Emily (Midori Francis), who is running through the woods from her murderous ex and can barely see. Emily is nearly blind, so Sam has to be her eyes over a video call, describing the trees, the ground and whatever is closing in. Yoko Okumura, directing her first feature, keeps the whole thing pressed against Sam, who has to keep talking and keep looking, because Emily is trusting every word.
