Unstrung Heroes

(1995)Directed by Diane Keaton93 minComedy, Drama, Family
“Sometimes you find your heroes in the most unlikely places”

Steven Lidz (Nathan Watt) packs up and moves in with his two uncles, Danny (Michael Richards) and Arthur (Maury Chaykin), because home has gone quiet since his mother Selma (Andie MacDowell) fell sick. The uncles are eccentric men, and his father Sid (John Turturro) has little patience for them. Diane Keaton directs from Richard LaGravenese's script, taken from Franz Lidz's memoir, and she keeps the camera close to a boy learning his way around grief.
