“Everyone's got an opinion.”
Nobody at the Chelsea gallery can say why a pile of junk sells for a fortune, but Madeleine Gray (Marley Shelton), the gallerist selling it, never has to explain. Then she meets Adrian Jacobs (Adam Goldberg), a brooding composer whose noise pieces play to empty rooms, and the attraction is immediate. Jonathan Parker sets the whole film on one question: who decides what counts as art, and who pays them.
