Up in Smoke

“It will make you feel VERY funny!”

Pedro (Cheech Marin) is cruising around in a beat-up car when he picks up Man (Tommy Chong), a hitchhiker who has walked away from his strict parents and his Mr. Stoner surname without much of a plan. Lou Adler, in his first time directing, drops the pair into a run of arrests, escapes and wrong turns that leave them chasing one thing. Neither of them ever seems to want anything else, and that single-mindedness is the whole of who they are.
