At a military academy, four boys land in the barracks for four different reasons, among them Chooch Bombalazzi (Ralph Macchio) and Eisenhower "Ike" MacArthur (Wendell Brown). The drills, the uniforms and the rules ask more of them than they have to give. Robert Downey Sr. keeps the cadets close together, and the year turns on one idea: being a real man is a different thing from passing inspection.
