“Follow your heart. Find your voice.”

Josh Waaka (Julian Dennison), a 17-year-old student, has spent his whole life sitting on the fence, and that stops working when he is pushed into political activism to stand up for his family and his future. Around him are his mother Shirley (Minnie Driver), his brother Jamie (James Rolleston), and Brother Madigan (Rhys Darby). Hamish Bennett and Paul Middleditch keep the tone warm and the humour close to the family.
