“What you don't believe can kill you.”

Students at a private New England university keep turning up dead, and each killing copies a story people usually tell to scare each other. Natalie Simon (Alicia Witt) is the first to see the pattern, though campus security brushes her off, and Paul Gardener (Jared Leto) is a reporter for the student paper. Jamie Blanks keeps the pace tight, and with the killer working through the legends one at a time, Natalie has to figure out who is next before it happens.
