“A Day's Bread”

Balo (Garima) wants one small thing from her marriage, to get Sucha Singh's meal to him hot while his truck passes the village on the highway. Every day she cooks it, carries it across the fields, and waits by the road, while her husband (Gurdeep Singh) plays cards with friends and spends his nights with his mistress. Mani Kaul follows the walk and the wait, and the day she runs late puts her husband's anger and her own place in the marriage at risk.
