USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage

“1196 men aboard, 5 days in water, 317 survived”

The USS Indianapolis has just delivered the atomic weapons that will end the war when Captain McVay (Nicolas Cage) and his crew are left stranded in the Philippine Sea. Hunger and thirst set in over five days, and the sharks keep coming for the men in the water. Mario Van Peebles shoots the ordeal close to the waterline, keeping the camera among the survivors.
