V for Vendetta

A masked anarchist calling himself V (Hugo Weaving) blows up a London courthouse and pulls a young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman) into his orbit. V moves through the city with surgical precision, targeting the architects of a surveillance state while Evey becomes both hostage and witness to his plan. McTeigue orchestrates the violence and paranoia with the locked-down geometry of a graphic novel, each frame a panel pressing inward.
