V for Vendetta

“People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.”

Out past curfew, Evey (Natalie Portman) is cornered by the secret police in a Britain run as a fascist state, until a masked man in a cloak steps in and takes them apart. He calls himself V (Hugo Weaving), and he has a plan to get the whole country's attention. James McTeigue, directing for the first time, keeps the film close to the comic's blunt, theatrical staging.
