Valentino

(1977)Directed by Ken Russell128 min · RDrama, History
“In life he was a movie star, in death he became a legend.”

Rudolph Valentino (Rudolf Nureyev) has become the biggest star of the silent screen, and then he is dead, which sends the women from his past back through the story of how he got there. Ken Russell builds the film from their separate memories, among them Alla Nazimova (Leslie Caron) and Natasha Rambova (Michelle Phillips). Each of them knew a different man, and Valentino is only ever seen through what they choose to keep.
