“Many saw evil. They dared to stop it.”

Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg (Tom Cruise) comes home to Germany wounded in Africa, sure that the war is being led to ruin and that someone must end it. He joins a circle of officers that includes Henning von Tresckow (Kenneth Branagh) and Friedrich Olbricht (Bill Nighy), planning to seize the government and kill Hitler. Bryan Singer follows Stauffenberg as the work narrows to him alone, and the plot depends on one man's nerve.
