Charette (Hugo Becker) has spent three years back home after leaving the Royal Navy, a young man with no particular plans in 1793. Then the peasants of the Vendée, angry and with no one to lead them, ask him to take command of their revolt against the Revolution. Vincent Mottez and Paul Mignot film the rebel army as a crowd of peasants, deserters, women, old people and children.
