Variações: Guardian Angel

António Ribeiro (Sérgio Praia) leaves his village in northern Portugal and cuts hair in Lisbon, then starts singing in bars as António Variações. João Maia follows him through the hectic years of the early 1980s, when he became a famous pop rock singer, with Rosa Maria (Victoria Guerra) and Fernando Ataíde (Filipe Duarte) close beside him. The film keeps returning to how little time he had, since he died of AIDS-related complications in 1984.
