In a small Texas town, the Coyotes carry the whole community's Friday nights, and nobody can say why a second-string quarterback is suddenly being asked to carry them. Brian Robbins follows Jonathan "Mox" Moxon (James Van Der Beek), a backup who reads playbooks for fun, after starter Lance Harbor (Paul Walker) goes down hurt. Mox now has to answer to Coach Bud Kilmer (Jon Voight), a man who runs the team his own way.
