Venus

“She's a real work of art.”

In London, Maurice (Peter O'Toole) is an aging actor who spends his days with his old friend Ian (Leslie Phillips) and takes small parts when they come. Then Ian's grandniece Jessie (Jodie Whittaker) arrives from the provinces, sullen and unimpressed, and Maurice sets out to teach her some London culture. Roger Michell's film is about how little of what we want to pass on is ever wanted by the person we pass it to.
