Verônica

“A lesson in survival.”

Verônica (Andréa Beltrão) is a public school teacher in Rio de Janeiro, the kind who still walks a late student home herself. One afternoon she takes Leandro (Matheus de Sá) to his place in the slum and learns that drug traffickers have killed his parents and are now looking for the boy. Maurício Farias keeps the story close to a teacher's ordinary duty, asking how far that duty reaches when no one else will take it up.
