Munich, 1955: Veronika Voss (Rosel Zech), once a German film star, is now a morphine addict supplied by the neurologist Dr. Marianne Katz (Annemarie Düringer). Sports writer Robert Krohn (Hilmar Thate) meets her by chance, and Rainer Werner Fassbinder shoots their affair in black and white. Veronika dreams of a comeback, and Robert starts to see who is controlling her, and what she stands to lose.
