Eight-year-old Victoria (Shanna Keil) has not spoken since her mother disappeared, and her father Stéphane (Vincent Elbaz) moves them to the mountains of Cantal hoping to reach her. A shepherd hands her a puppy in the forest, and Stéphane soon realizes it is a wolf, but he cannot take it from her. Denis Imbert films the pair in the mountains of Cantal, the girl and the animal small against the green slopes.
