“A Scorching Drama of the Most Un-talked About Subject Of Our Time!”

Melville Farr (Dirk Bogarde) is a London barrister with a successful career and a marriage to Laura (Sylvia Syms) that looks settled from the outside. A web of blackmail and murder pulls him in anyway, and Basil Dearden follows the threat as it closes around the life he has built. Melville has to decide how much of it he is willing to lose to get at the truth.
