Viduthalai: Part I

Kumaresan (Soori), a police constable in 1987, wants only to do his job and keep his head down. Instead he is pulled into a manhunt for Perumal Vaathiyar, who leads a separatist group fighting the authorities over the abuse of village women in police custody. Vetrimaaran puts Kumaresan in the middle of an operation he did not choose, among officers who give the orders, and he begins to see what that work is.
