Vision - From the Life of Hildegard von Bingen

Hildegard von Bingen (Barbara Sukowa) is a twelfth-century Benedictine nun who sees visions she can't explain and, for years, tells almost no one. Margarethe von Trotta follows her as she sets the visions down with the help of the monk Volmar (Heino Ferch), and as her work gathers a following. Every page she writes puts her standing in the Church at risk, in a time when a woman who claims to speak for God has few protectors.
