“Marriage isn't a game...”

Poonam Mishra (Amrita Rao) has grown up the quiet, traditional way, and her uncle has arranged her marriage to Prem Bajpayee (Shahid Kapoor), a man she has barely met. Sooraj Barjatya follows the two of them from engagement toward the wedding, with both families gathered in the house. Then an accident leaves Poonam possibly scarred for life, and what is at risk is the promise the two have only just begun to make to each other.
