Voices Through Time

A year passes in Castellaro Lagusello, a village in Lombardy, and the film follows it through the four seasons. Children, farmers and the old go about their days among the fields and the weather, with almost no one given a name, and the stages of a life are set against the turning of the year. Franco Piavoli builds it from images and ambient sound, and trusts the quiet to carry the story.
