Volcano

“It's hotter than hell.”

Mike Roark (Tommy Lee Jones) runs Los Angeles's Office of Emergency Management, and he is the kind of man who answers a quake with a plan before the shaking stops. Mick Jackson sends him through a city where lava is rising from the La Brea Tar Pits, with a geologist, Dr. Amy Barnes (Anne Heche), as his guide. Roark's daughter Kelly (Gaby Hoffmann) is somewhere in the same streets, and every order he gives is also a way of reaching her.
