(1942)Directed by John Farrow87 minWar, Action, Drama
“Leathernecks... writing another glorious chapter of purposeful courage in America's history!”

Major Geoffrey Caton (Brian Donlevy) commands a small garrison of Marines on Wake Island in late 1941, a Pacific outpost with no hope of relief or re-supply. John Farrow sets him among the men under him, including Joe Doyle (Robert Preston) and Smacksie Randall (William Bendix), as word of Pearl Harbor comes in and the Japanese Navy turns toward the island. Caton holds the base with what he has, and the men dig in.
