Waking Life

“Dreams. What are they? An escape from reality or reality itself?”

A young man (Wiley Wiggins) drifts from one scene to the next and cannot tell whether he is awake, so he starts listening to the people he meets. They talk to him about free will and dreams, in cars, on boats, and across tables. Richard Linklater animates the whole film over live footage, and the conversations keep returning to one plain question: what a life is for.
