Walkover

A prizefighter named Andrzej Leszczyc (Jerzy Skolimowski) skips a bout he was meant to fight, and Jerzy Skolimowski's film follows what he does with the time instead. He is drawn toward a beautiful blonde, Teresa Karczewska (Aleksandra Zawieruszanka), and the courtship unfolds in sparse, deliberate scenes with little said between them. Andrzej stands inside the frame, a man built for the ring who is nowhere near it.
