War of the Buttons

The boys of Longueverne and Velrans have fought for generations, and the prize in every battle is a rival's buttons, snipped off as trophies. After Lebrac's father beats him for coming home with his own buttons gone, Lebrac decides his side will go into the next fight with no clothes at all. Yves Robert follows both armies as the boys treat each skirmish as serious business and the village adults keep arriving to put a stop to it.
