“Most wars last years. This one has to be over by dinner.”

In County Cork, two gangs of boys, the Ballys and the Carricks, hold a feud over the strangest of prizes. Whoever loses a fight has the buttons cut from his clothes, and walks home holding his trousers up. Fergus (Gregg Fitzgerald) and Big Con (Gerard Kearney) sit on opposite sides of it, and John Roberts filmed the whole thing on location in the countryside where the story is set.
