A messenger (Michael Lambourne) carries urgent news to the king, but the road is crawling with plague-ridden outcasts and creatures warped by dark magic. Griff (Rosanna Miles) and Orion (Stuart Brennan) lead a band of guardians sworn to get him there alive, moving fast through an ancient land that seems designed to kill them. By the end, the weight of keeping him safe has drained the faith from at least one of them.
